Donella Meadows
Environmental scientist and systems thinker who wrote “Thinking in Systems” - the foundational text on understanding interconnections rather than isolated problems. Meadows demonstrated that most “problems” are actually symptoms of larger system dynamics. Her work on leverage points showed that small interventions in the right place within a system create more change than massive efforts in the wrong place. She taught that creative solutions emerge not from fixing individual components, but from understanding how everything connects. Meadows proved that the most effective problem-solvers see webs of relationships where others see isolated events.
